Installing Seawalls in Four Corners

Seawalls can be more complicated than some might envision. Each panel must be buried a minimum of 40% of the seawall bed. Sea-walls are not hammered into place, but are placed by agitating the canal bed.

We place deadman anchors at least every 10 feet to hold the seawall to the landward side. The anchors are inserted approximately 15 feet below the ground. Otherwise prone to rust, these deadman anchors should be made from epoxy-coated steel rebar. They are also covered with a poly pipe sleeves. The concrete cap of the sea-wall is sealed by sealing the end of the rebar that is attached to the seawall cap.

On most of our jobs, we pour our seawall caps on-site and then fasten the multiple components together. Texas Seawall Services often reinforces the top with further structural support to its sea-wall caps by using custom-stirrup-shaped steel rebar.
